Broadly, I am interested in how plants transduce environmental signals into relevant cellular and physiological responses. The major focus of my research has been to dissect the role that calcium permeable ion channels and pumps play in mediating cellular responses to pathogen infection through the use of genetically encoded calcium biosensors.
