My research interests are focused on improving photosynthetic performance of crops for increased yields. I have a background in molecular biology and genomics and believe that a combined approach will be required to meet global food demand, including both conventional breeding, random mutagenesis and synthetic biology in addition to social and political developments.

My current position is on the Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE) project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where I am gaining experience in Plant Physiology techniques
